Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic, who arrived in Ljubljana on Tuesday to attend the Slovenian parliament's ratification of Croatia's Treaty of Accession to the European Union, said that the efforts to solve the Ljubljanska Banka (LB) issue also contributed to the enhancement of the overall bilateral relations between Croatia and Slovenia.

After her brief meeting with her Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec ahead of the ratification of the Croatia-EU treaty in the parliament, Pusic said that "we have used this time not only to solve the issue we were faced with but also to upgrade relations between Slovenia and Croatia".

She thanked her Slovenian counterpart as well as Slovenian and Croatian experts, France Arhar and Zdravko Rogic for their engagement in efforts to settle the LB issue.

Slovenian Minister Erjavec said he was confident that the two neighbours would turn a new page in their relationship after the ratification of the said document.

He added that the stability of the Western Balkans and the continuation of the enlargement of the European Union was in the joint interest of the two countries.

Pusic and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic attended the Slovenian parliament's special session at which the Croatia-EU treaty was ratified. Later on Tuesday, they will be received by Slovenian top officials including President Borut Pahor.
