The Croatian parliament will ratify Croatia's Treaty of Accession to the EU on Friday, March 9, the chair of the parliamentary Committee on European Integration, Daniel Mondekar, said on Monday.
The parliament's public relations service said Mondekar made the statement during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal, which was also attended by European Integration Committee deputy chair Gordan Jandrokovic.
Modenkar informed the Dutch minister of the Committee's activities and tasks in the period leading to Croatia's full membership of the EU.
Speaking of the ratification process, Mondekar reported which countries had ratified Croatia's Accession Treaty so far, announcing its ratification in the Croatian parliament for March 9.
Rosenthal said that with regard to new EU enlargement rounds, the Netherlands would continue applying the principle "strict and fair". As regards the last stage of Croatia's accession process, he commented on reforms arising from the policy chapter No. 23, Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, and the policy chapter No. 24, Justice, Freedom and Security, to which Mondekar and Jandrokovic said Croatia was committed to implementing the necessary reforms.
