Former Bosnian general Jovan Divjak was released on bail on Tuesday, spokeswoman for the Korneuburg court, Christa Zemanek, told the Austrian news agency APA, adding that the bail was EUR 500,000.
The court is yet to decide on Divjak's extradition to Serbia.
According to the Bosnian media, the EUR 500,000 bail was paid by Sarajevo Canton.
Zanemak told APA earlier today that Belgrade had not yet forwarded documents for Divjak's extradition.
Divjak was arrested at Vienna airport on Thursday on a warrant issued by Serbia, which suspects him of killing and injuring several members of the former Yugoslav People's Army in Sarajevo in May 1992.
During the war, Divjak was a deputy commander of the Bosnian Army Main Staff.
Bosnia-Herzegovina's presidency member Zeljko Komsic and Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj on Monday visited retired general Jovan Divjak, Zemanek said.
