Farmers from the Djakovo area gathered with 80 tractors for a peaceful protest outside the eastern Croatian city of Djakovo on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina and a meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.
The disgruntled farmers demand the payment of all incentives for last year on par to the amount that was paid in 2011. They claim to be the targets of trade lobbies, which they say are interested only in profit, while producers and consumers are not protected.
Another 100 farmers took it to the streets in Brod-Posavina County while earlier today Farmers from Baranja in eastern Croatia began a peaceful protest by parking a dozen tractors on a road in Ceminac.
