Following yesterday's failed negotiations between farmers' representatives and the ministers of agriculture and finance, farmers on Tuesday stepped up their protests and have blocked roads in almost all continental counties.
Farmers are demanding an urgent meeting with President Ivo Josipovic and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.
Speaking on behalf of disgruntled farmers, Antun Laslo announced that if Prime Minister Milanovic did not receive them for talks, farmers were prepared for a complete blockade of the country's roads.
Laslo told the press that farmers continued to demand to talk with Milanovic but was not sure if the government had responded to their demand.
Asked how long farmers would wait for the prime minister to respond, Laslo said that he could not specify, but certainly not long. "If that isn't soon, then we will take further action", he said.
