A Zagreb County Court judge issued a warrant for blocking the Fimi media's bank accounts. The judge on Wednesday set a month-long detention for the Fimi Media owner, Nevenka Jurak, and for her business associate Anita Loncar Papes, who are suspected of financial wrongdoings, citing a risk of tampering with witnesses.
The third suspect, Bojan Dimic, was released pending trial, after he decided to confess that he was involved in financial wrongdoings, namely that he performed illegal jobs for Jurak, the same unofficial sources said adding that Dimic remained a suspect.
Dimic told USKOK he had submitted false bills for nonexistent services, thus obtaining illegal gain for himself but mostly for Jurak,
Judge Kresimir Devcic declined to say what were the three charged with, given that USKOK was in charge of the investigation. He, however, confirmed for Hina that he had issued a warrant for blocking Fimi Media's business acounts.
USKOK has requested the questioning of 16 witnesses in the further course of the probe, Devcic said yesterday, adding that the list of witnesses could be extended during the probe.
USKOK has launched an investigation against Jurak, Loncar Papes, and Dimic on suspicion of their involvement in irregularities in business cooperation between the Fimi Media marketing company and several state-owned companies.
They are suspected of having conspired to submit false bills for nonexistent services, thus obtaining illegal gain for themselves in the amount of HRK 16.5 million.
