Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic said on Monday that Croatia had completed its border arbitration brief, that the government would discuss it one more time this week and that the brief would be submitted before the deadline which expires on 11 February.

"This is a first-rate document consisting of some 300 pages which has been drawn up in cooperation with the world's top notch experts," Pusic said in Brussels where she is taking part in a meeting of EU foreign or European affairs ministers.

She declined to comment on Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa's decision to send Slovenia's border arbitration brief to parliament which is expected to vote on it.

"You must ask PM Jansa this question," Pusic said.

Jansa decided last week that a decision on the matter should rest with the national law-making body. The Slovenian parliament is now expected to discuss the Slovenian document at its extraordinary session behind closed doors today.

The premier believes that the parliament would accede to "minor modifications" of the draft proposal of Slovenia's pleading on how to approach the border demarcation.

Croatia and Slovenia are expected to submit their first depositions to the five-member Arbitral Tribunal on 11 February.
