The European Union enlargement commissioner will present the European Commission's final monitoring report on Croatia at an extraordinary session of the Croatian government in Zagreb on March 26, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic announced on Monday.

"We expect a very positive report considering the fact that Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele has announced his visit to Zagreb on March 25 so that he could present the final monitoring report at an extraordinary session of the government on March 26," Pusic told reporters in Brussels where she was attending a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

Pusic also met with Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstroem and a part of their talks was dedicated to the anti-corruption strategy. Every two years the Commission releases a report on the fight against corruption in the EU member states and the next one is due this summer. Malmstroem also discussed this matter with Justice Minister Orsat Miljenic on Friday.

Pusic and Malmstroem discussed a request to allow citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter Croatia with ID cards after Croatia joins the EU on July 1. Croatia made the request on March 8 in an official letter addressed to the Irish Presidency asking that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina be allowed to enter Croatia in the same way Croatian citizens were allowed to enter Slovenia, Hungary and Italy. Also discussed was a request to allow citizens of third countries who have a Schengen visa to enter Croatia based on that visa, including citizens of Kosovo.

Pusic and Malmstroem discussed an EU-funded pre-feasibility study of the best way to connect the Dubrovnik area with the rest of Croatia. The area is cut off from the rest of the country at Neum where Bosnia and Herzegovina has access to the Adriatic Sea.

Pusic said she expected the Slovenian parliament to ratify Croatia's EU accession treaty by the end of March or the beginning of April.
