The Croatian state-owned power company HEP announced on Friday it had selected four companies which it would invite to submit their binding offers for a strategic partnership in the construction and management of a 500 MW coal-powered thermal power plant, Plomin C.
The selected companies are: Edison (Italy), KOSEP (South Korea), Marubeni (Japan) and POL-MOT (Poland).
"The strategic partner will be selected based on energy and economic criteria, taking into account the portion of domestic companies in the project," HEP said in a statement
HEP said earlier that potential partners would have to submit their binding offers by the end of the year. The selection of the strategic partner is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
The investment project is estimated at 800 million euros.
