Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi has thanked the governments of Croatia and Slovakia for demonstrating their solidarity during Hungary's anti-flood operations, Hungarian news agency MTI reported on Monday.
Martonyi talked on the phone with his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusic on Monday and they agreed that they would continue to inform each other about a flood wave that was expected to reach Croatia later this week and to coordinate their defence operations.
The Hungarian minister thanked the Slovak government for the technical assistance in flood defence activities.
The Danube in Budapest on Monday began to subside slightly after reaching a record high level of 8.91 metres on Sunday evening.
