At the end of June, 287,511 people were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), down 3.8 per cent on the month and up 0.6 per cent on the year.
The year-on-year unemployment growth slowed down considerably, from eight per cent in January to only 0.6 per cent in June, the HZZ said on Monday, expecting unemployment growth to continue slowing down and stopping in the months ahead.
A total of 19,492 people found a job in June, an increase of 13.3 per cent on the year, while 19,015 registered with the HZZ.
The City of Zagreb has the highest number of the jobless - 38,986, or 13.6 per cent of all the jobless in the country.
In June, 68,577 people received unemployment benefits, or 23.9 per cent of all the jobless, down 7.4 per cent on the month and 5.1 per cent on the year.
