"Just Between Us", a love drama by Croatian director Rajko Grlic, has won the Grand Golden Arena award in the national programme of the 57th Pula Film Festival, a news conference heard in the northern Croatian Adriatic city on Saturday.
The Golden Gate of Pula, the audience's best film award, went to "72 Days", a dark comedy by Danilo Serbedzija, produced by Inter Film from Zagreb. Rade Serbedzija and Bogdan Diklic, who play in this film, won the best leading actor and the best supporting actor awards.
The Golden Arena for best script was awarded to debut director Nevijo Marasovic for his film "The Show Must Go On".
The Golden Arena for best leading actress went to Marija Skaricic for her role in the film "Mother of Asphalt" by Dalibor Matanic.
In for the festival's international programme, the best actress award went to Sylvie Testud for her role in the film "Lourdes" by Jessica Housner, Bertrand Tavernier won the best director award for his film "The Princess of Montpensier", and the best film award went to Robert Benmussa, Roman Polanski and Alain Sarde, producers of "The Ghost Writer", directed by Polanski.
The winners of the Pula Film Festival awards will be presented with the awards at the event's closing ceremony this evening.
