The president of the HDZ parliamentary group and Deputy Parliament Speaker, Jadranka Kosor, told reporters on Wednesday she met with the newly elected HDZ president, Tomislav Karamarko, this morning but would not say what they talked about.
"If Mr Karamarko wants to tell you something about it, he can, but I feel that was a talk between the two of us," she said, adding that it was a "good talk."
Responding to questions from the press, Kosor said she and Karamarko talked about her position as deputy parliament speaker from the ranks of the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union). "He said the HDZ Presidency would decide about that."
Asked if she asked him whether she would keep that post, Kosor said, "That wouldn't be an appropriate question for Mr Karamarko."
She said she accepted the decision the delegates of the HDZ made at the party's convention on Sunday, when she lost the re-election for party president.
Asked if there would be a transfer of powers between her and Karamarko, she said no.
