Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, First Deputy PM Radimir Cacic and Environment Minister Mirela Holy denied on Thursday that there was a conflict in the government regarding a bill on an agency that would monitor energy sector operations and investments.
Cacic and Holy had divergent views of the bill during today's government session, so Milanovic postponed a discussion on it for next week.
Responding to questions from the press afterwards, Milanovic said the bill was a good solution. "Having this agency is a good thing. We can talk about details but not the concept," he said, adding that the environmental protection ministry "has a certain objection."
Asked if Holy had informed him about alleged conflicts in the task force that was drafting the bill, Milanovic said she had not.
Holy told the press her cooperation with Cacic was good and that "everything is alright."
Cacic said he had not clashed with Holy and refuted one weekly's statement that he said at a meeting of the task force that her "clever little head need not bother" about the bill.
"That's literally a lie. The person who said it lied," he told reporters, adding that discussion on the bill should not have been postponed, as measures that facilitated growth should be adopted as soon as possible.
