Nestle, a leading Swiss food company, on Friday reported that it had reached agreement on acquiring Serbia's Centroproizvod.
The acquisition includes also the purchase of the Surcin producing plant of that major Serbian food producer, which expects sales revenues of EUR 25 million in 2011.
Nestle sees this acquisition as a strategic step in strengthening its position in the region.
The Swiss company, which has been present in the Adriatic region since 2003, currently employs around 500 people and operates one factory in Stara Pazova, Serbia.
