A total of 1,363,155 Croatians were employed in February, or 0.6 percent (7,885 people) fewer than in January, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Friday.
The number of employees in companies went down by 0.5 percent (6,228) to 1,129,276. The number of self-employed workers and workers in small businesses decreased by 0.7 percent (1,382) month-on-month to 204,119 in February. There were 29,760 farmers in February, or 0.9 percent fewer than in January.
As many as 342,951 Croatians were registered as jobless with the National Employment Service and the registered unemployed rate went up from 19.6 percent in January to 20.1 percent in February.
