The coffin with the body of late Parliament Speaker Boris Sprem, with six honour guards standing by every five minutes, is lying in state at the morgue of Zagreb's Mirogoj cemetery since early morning on Thursday.
The coffin will lie in state until 11.30 a.m., when Sprem's family is scheduled to arrive and be welcomed by the most senior state officials, who will also stand the last honour guard.
Sprem will be buried at noon with the highest military honours, with President Ivo Josipovic and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic delivering eulogies. Mass will be said by Auxiliary Zagreb Bishop Mijo Gorski.
The coffin with Sprem's body arrived in Croatia from the United States yesterday. He had gone to Houston to undergo multiple myeloma treatment on August 23 and died on September 30.
