The Croatian parliament is scheduled to resume its regular session on Thursday with a debate on the government's report on the course and results of the negotiations on Croatia's European Union entry.
The report recalls that Croatia submitted a request for EU membership on 21 February 2003 and that the negotiations were formally launched on 3 October 2005 in Luxembourg and formally completed on 30 June 2011 in Brussels.
The final decision on the country's accession the bloc will be made by Croatian citizens at a referendum scheduled for 22 January.
In the event of a positive outcome of the referendum, the government will send to parliament a bill on the ratification of the Accession Treaty which needs to be adopted by a two-thirds majority.
