The Split Pride 2013 will be held on 6 June in the southern Adriatic city, organisers of the event reported on Saturday, adding however they have not yet received a confirmation for the city authorities regarding the use of public places.
The organisers said they expected full cooperation from newly elected city authorities and their support in promoting and protecting LGBT rights.
"And we expect a future mayor, and some have already promised this, to be the one at the helm of the Pride parade, as it is a civic duty," the organisers said.
This is the third gay pride parade taking place in Split. The first one was held in 2011 and was marred by violence.
