Commenting on the forecasts by the British business weekly The Economist that Croatia's GDP would rise by 2 percent and unemployment would fall in 2011, Prime Minister Kosor said on Monday that she was satisfied with such projections, which she said corroborated her optimism about the new year.
"I continue to be optimistic. I frequently spoke about economic growth which we projected at a modest 1.5 percent for this year," Kosor said during her visit to the northern Adriatic city of Pula, adding that the growth rate could be higher provided that more major investment projects were implemented.
"I am particularly glad to see that The Economist envisages a decline in unemployment, because it is one of the biggest problems this government is dealing with," she added.
"This also confirms that we can overcome the crisis with a little more work, persistence and unity."
The Economist gave those projections in its annual publication on the world in 2011.
