The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) on Wednesday morning endorsed the joint negotiating positions on closing three policy chapters in Croatia's European Union accession negotiations, and those three chapters are to be closed at a ministerial accession conference later in the day.
After the COREPER ended its session, the intergovernmental conference on Croatia's EU admission began in Brussels.
Croatia is expected to close Justice, Freedom and Security (the chapter No. 24), Environment (the chapter No. 27) and Foreign, Security and Defence Policy (No. 31).
Croatia's delegation is headed by Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic and the EU side is represented by Belgian Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere.
The EU acquis communautaire is divided into 35 chapters with two of them not being subject to negotiations.
