Trade unionists on Monday announced protest rallies for 11 October at a few places in the centre of Zagreb against "the wrong and detrimental policy" of the Zoran Milanovic cabinet.
Union leader Vilim Ribic told a news conference in Zagreb today that they expected several thousand members of trade unions of teachers and nurses and other unions to join the protests.
Ribic is hopeful that the turnout will be high with up to 20,000 demonstrators.
Nurses' union leader Anica Prasnjak called on unions in the healthcare sector as well as on patients to join in the 11 October protest.
