The telecommunications company Vipnet will take over for EUR 93 million the biggest cable operator and provider of fixed telephony, Internet and television services in Croatia - B.net. The completion of the transaction, which is subject to approval by the Croatian Competition Agency, is expected in the second half of this year, officials at Vipnet said on Wednesday.
The takeover, which Vipnet describes as the biggest acquisition in the Croatian market, is the result of a contract signed in Austria today by Vipnet and the Austrian concern BEWAG from Burgenland, the majority owner of B.net. Under the contract, Vipnet is to acquire 100-percent ownership of B.net.
