Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic visited the Serbian national team camp in Stara Pazova on Thursday ahead of a 2014 World Cup qualifying football match against Croatia, saying that all the necessary measures had been taken to ensure that the game passed peacefully.

"We have organised helicopters, the cavalry, we have done everything to ensure that the game passes peacefully. We have posted a police officer every 100 metres, and anyone who causes any trouble will be punished. ... What matters is that we win," Vucic told the Serbian players, as quoted by Tanjug news agency.

About 4,000 police officers will be deployed to maintain security during the game due to take place in Belgrade on Friday.

President Tomislav Nikolic visited the players on Wednesday.
