The Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) method, carried out by the nongovernmental organisation GONG, showed that a majority of voters who went to the polls in Sunday's referendum voted in favour of Croatia's EU admission, namely 65 percent, while 34 percent voted against.
Of a total of 6,573 polling stations in Croatia, GONG implemented the said method at 253 and processed the results from 219 polling stations.
Unlike exit polls, PVT involves observation of the voting and counting of ballots at the polling stations, collection of official polling station results and independent tabulation of these results, parallel to election authorities.
