Bosnian Foreign Trade Minister Mirko Sarovic on Tuesday dismissed the claim that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia were waging a milk war, saying the Bosnian authorities would continue with a stepped-up inspection of imports of milk, milk products and cattle fodder due to higher levels of mycotoxins in mildewy maize.
Sarovic said in Mostar the Bosnian authorities had stopped a number of milk shipments from Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary and Germany suspected to contain elevated levels of aflatoxins.
He said the milk in question would not be distributed until the results of an analysis done in an EU lab were released.
Responding to a question from the press, he denied that Bosnia and Croatia were waging a milk war.
