Pucisce on the Island of Brac will once again this summer, the eighteenth in a row, be the venue for the International Summer School of Music which involves various musical styles (classical, jazz, pop/rock/fusion) and along with the school of stone-masonry, has become the town's trade-mark.
In a press release the organisers note that this year an increasing number of participants have applied to attend the school, coming from all the continents and that more concerts will be held. Locals in Pucisce are pleased with the growing number of bed-nights in that town.
The International Summer School of Music will continue through September and its workshops are intended for students, music enthusiasts of all ages and whatever level of knowledge.
Workshops include classical music, jazz, salsa and singing for a variety of instruments - violin, piano, flute, guitar, violoncello, tamburitza, horn, clarinet, trumpet...).
Participants are given lessons by renown experts from all over the world including individual and group work.
Several concerts will be held during the school by participants, their professors and other musicians with a final concert to conclude the school.
Over the past 18 years, over 50 seminars were held each year by professors from Croatia, Europe, USA and Russia and more than 300 participants have attended to date.
