There are three or four possible ways for resolving the issue of the now defunct Ljubljanska Banka, one of which is to offset debts, Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic said on in Brussels on Monday, adding that information appearing in Slovenia's press regarding the bank's balance is incorrect.

There are three or four different alternatives that Slovenia's foreign Minister Karl Erjavec and I will discuss on Wednesday with two financial experts Zdravko Rogic and Franc Arhar who will meet first and then we will try and find a compromise, said Pusic currently attending a meeting of foreign and European ministers of EU member countries.

Pusic commented on recent claims by Slovenia's Ambassador to Croatia Vojko Volk in an interview with the Slovenian Delo daily, that the Ljubljana Banka's receivables from Croatian companies are four times higher than transferred Croatian savings were.

Our financial expert has data issued by the Slovenian government which indicates that this ratio is in fact the opposite. It is not up to foreign ministers to rely on guess work, it is up to the financial experts to determine relations based on relevant documentation, she said.
