The Croatian Dalekovod company has been awarded an EUR 81 million job for the construction of a 164-kilometre-long section of a 420 kV grid in Norway, this leading Croatian power transmission equipment producer reported in a statement issued on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) on Monday.

"We are free to inform you that Dalekovod d.d. has received a notice of contract award for construction of the 164 km long section of the new 420 kV Alfoten – Moskog – Hojanger – Sogndal transmission line, that constitutes the southern section of the 420 kV Orskog – Fardal transmission line," reads the statement.

"The scope of works at the said facility includes: delivery and erection of steel-lattice towers, supply of equipment (ACSR conductors, OPGW, glass composite insulators, line hardware) and electrical fitting works, as well as civil engineering works, e.g. foundation works on towers on two sections: 420 kV Moskog - Sogndal transmission line (80 km long) and 420 kV Alfoten - Moskog transmission line (84 km long)," it added.

The value of insured works and supply of the steel structure and equipment totals EUR 81.0 million.

"It should be noted that this has been one of the biggest investments in the Norwegian transmission lines so far: herewith Dalekovod shall set up a 285 km long energy link between the Sogndal substation in the southern part of Central Norway and the Orskog substation in the northern part," the company said.

"It is also worth noting that this has been the fifth project realized independently by Dalekovod d.d. since 2007."
