The Croatian Helsinki Committee on Human Rights (HHO) agrees that certain human rights of former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's wife Mirjana were breached, HHO president Ivan Zvonimir Cicak told reporters on Friday in a break of an HHO executive committee session.
Cicak said the executive committee members had different opinions on frozen bank accounts, but that they were agreed that the media had breached Mrs Sanader's human rights and that some journalists had breached the rules of their profession.
Cicak said the public would be informed about the session's conclusions on Saturday morning.
Sanader has been in extradition custody in Austria since his arrest on December 10. He was arrested on a warrant issued by Croatian authorities which want him on suspicion of corruption. His wife has complained in a letter to the HHO about violations of her and her family's human rights, primarily by the media, the authorities, and Zagrebacka Banka.
