The 11th annual chamber music festival "Julian Rachlin and Friends" began in the southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik on Saturday.
More than a thousand people were in attendance, including President Ivo Josipovic.
The first concert, by the Belgrade Philharmonic, was conducted by maestro Zubin Mehta.
Belgrade's Philharmonic performed in Dubrovnik for the first time since the 1991-95 Homeland War.
The festival closes on September 8.
