The head of Croatia's strongest opposition party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), said on Monday that Croatia should not yet ratify the 1999 border agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that experts should have the final say in the matter.
"That agreement should not be ratified yet. I don't see why ratify it now, after so many years, if things have not been fully clarified yet," HDZ leader Tomislav Karamarko said during a visit to Virovitica.
He said that the problem should be dealt with in the spirt of friendship between the two countries, suggesting that a parliamentary commission of experts be set up to address the issue and propose solutions.
