Former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader will not oppose his extradition to Croatia, Sanader's Austrian lawyer Werner Suppan told the RTL TV station on Saturday evening.
The former Croatian PM did not oppose his extradition to Croatia at a court hearing in Salzburg, Suppan said, adding that Sanader was fine.
He recalled that Sanader had been on his way back to Zagreb when arrested by Austrian police, and that his attorneys in Zagreb had been in contact with Croatian authorities.
Tomorrow he will hear what Croatian authorities hold against him, Suppan said, stressing that Sanader wanted to return to Zagreb as soon as possible to clarify all questions because he did not feel guilty.
An investigating judge on duty at the Salzburg federal court this morning set extradition custody for Sanader, Austrian media said citing prosecution spokeswoman Barbara Feichtinger.
The extradition custody will last at least 14 days, she said.
