European People's Party (EPP) president Wilfried Martens and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Jadranka Kosor on Monday sent a joint letter to the leaders of the parties within the EPP, advocating a swift ratification of Croatia's European Union accession treaty in member countries' parliaments, the HDZ said in a press release.
The letter says it is in the joint interest that Croatia join the EU on 1 July 2013, as this will would send out a clear message to the entire Southeast Europe about the need to carry out structural and sustainable reforms as well as to adopt European values.
