Only nine percent of the Slovenians hold that the current situation in their country corresponds to the expectations they had 22 years ago when Slovenia declared independence from the then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), according to a survey conducted by the Delo daily among 404 respondents by phone.
The findings of the survey, published on Monday, show that 86% of the respondents said that their expectations did not come true, and five percent did know the answer.
Despite their disappointment at political divisions and at the outcome of the ongoing economic crisis, 52% of the respondents say they will watch or attend ceremonies to be organised on Monday evening and Tuesday on the occasion of 25 June which Slovenia observes as Statehood Day.
