The Justice Ministry has stated that the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor (DORH) has launched a preliminary inquiry against Davor Domazet Loso, stressing that the preliminary inquiry does not mean that an investigation has been initiated or that an indictment has been issued against him.
Amnesty International has said in a report that Croatia has failed to investigate accusations against Domazet Loso whom this organisation holds to be liable, according to command responsibility, for war crimes committed in the Medak area, southeast of Gospic.
DORH has said that preliminary inquiries are being conducted in this case, explaining that it is necessary to point out that this does not mean that an investigation has been launched or that an indictment has been issued, the Ministry reported on its web site on Wednesday.
After Amnesty International on 10 December 2010 delivered to the Justice Ministry its report on war crimes prosecution in Croatia, the Ministry requested all relevant institutions to give their opinions on the matter and published them on its web site.
