Former prime ministers of Croatia will gather for a meeting in the Cabinet office on Thursday, a source from the Cabinet of Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic told the press on Monday.
Former premier Jadranka Kosor, an independent MP, told reporters in the parliament today that she expected the gathering to focus on the current political and economic topics. She, however, admitted that she would not attach great importance to that event.
"No particular importance should be attached to that meeting. I think it is good that the incumbent premier and former premiers convene and converse. It is always good to talk," Kosor said.
She explained that the former heads of government had met at a special dinner held on the eve of Croatia's admission to the European Union on 1 July, when this idea about their new meeting was conceived.
"We have arranged such a meeting and agreed that it would be good to invite the incumbent premier. When he was informed about the idea, he invited us to come to the government's offices," Kosor said.
The meeting is likely to be held immediately after the government's regular meeting, and all former premiers, except Ivo Sanader who is behind bars while on trial for corruption, have been invited.
