Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said on Tuesday that the problems that could emerge after July 1 relating to border crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, because the Bosnian Bosnian Presidency has not accepted border agreements, would be solved but that patience was required.
On Monday, the Serbian member of the Bosnian Presidency, Nebojsa Radmanovic, voted against agreements on border crossings and cross-border traffic with Croatia. Bosnia's Security Minister Fahrudin Radoncic in turn responded that a blockade and chaos would occur on July 1 because Bosnian citizens would not be able to enter or goods be exported to Croatia, that is, the European Union. The Bosniak and Croat members of the Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic and Zeljko Komsic respectively, voted in favour of two agreements but because Radmanovic did not, the agreements cannot be enforced.
Asked by reporters to comment on these events, PM Milanovic said, "We will be patient and will resolve it".
"I know that things in (Bosnia) are complicated and I know that we function better as a state and I am glad because of that, but I would be happier if Bosnia and Herzegovina were to function better bureaucratically," he said.
Croatia needs Bosnia and Herzegovina because of the connection to Dubrovnik "until we solve that in some other way".
"We will need them in the future, too. They need us, all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina have connections to Europe through Croatia", the PM concluded.
