The movement "Stop the Prosecution of Croatian War Veterans" has said it will organise a protest in Zagreb on May 4 against a visit by the chief prosecutor of the Hague was crimes tribunal, Serge Brammertz, to the Croatian capital and his meetings with Croatian officials.
The leader of the movement, Zvonimir Trusic, told a news conference on Monday that Brammertz is "a member of third-class elites visiting Croatia, who thinks that he can dominate the Croatian people with his arrogance."
"We want to express an entirely different position and believe that we speak on behalf of most Croatians - our position is that this servile government, which receives for talks those clerks and would-bes, does not have the authority of the Croatian people to do what it is doing," Trusic said.
He added that during the protest, which will start in Cvjetni Trg Square at 9 am, the protesters will try to block the streets leading to St. Mark's Square where the government and parliament headquarters are located, in order to obstruct Brammertz's visit.
He invited war veterans and other citizens to join in the protest.
