In his speech at the start of the Social Democratic Party's (SDP) convention on Saturday, SDP leader and Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said "Let's go to work" and congratulated his party colleagues on the parliamentary election's victory.
Milanovic said: "I congratulate on the victory. Let's go to work."
Some 2,300 SDP delegates gathered in Zagreb for the party's 12th convention to elect 17 members of the presidency out of 34 nominated candidates for those positions. The newly-elected 17 members of the presidency will later in the day compete for four positions of the party's vice presidents and they will be elected by delegates at the convention. Today, the new main committee will also be elected.
Milanovic was re-elected SDP leader three weeks ago when he was the only candidate for that position and was chosen in the election method "one member-one vote".
