Serbia's President Tomislav Nikolic, who doubts the sincere intentions of Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic regarding his working visit to Belgrade where he met with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic on Wednesday, was quoted by the local media that this visit was an attempt by Croatia to "smoothly sail into the European Union" without the opposition from Serbia with which, Nikolic said, Croatia had a series of unresolved issues.

According to the Belgrade-based news agency Beta, Nikolic also complained about the Milanovic-Dacic meeting having been held before he met his Croatian counterpart Ivo Josipovic.

"I represent Serbia and its citizens in the country and abroad. I think that a meeting of the two presidents should have occurred before, as this would have meant the establishment of good relations. I do not know why Josipovic keeps avoiding such meeting. As far as I am concerned, Serbia should cooperate and talk with every country in the world, but there is procedure," Nikolic was quoted by Beta as saying.

The Belgrade media quoted Nikolic as saying "if Croatia has filed a genocide lawsuit against Serbia, how can the Croatian premier come to visit us then?"

"Someone is not sincere: either they are aware that we have not committed a genocide, or this visit is not sincerely friendly," he added.
