Serbian President Boris Tadic said on Wednesday that in his address to the U.N. Security Council he would talk about Croatian President Stjepan Mesic's statement that he would intervene militarily if the Bosnian Serb entity made a move to secede.
In an informal conversation with journalists on Monday, Mesic said that ifRepublika Srpska organised a referendum on secession from Bosnia andHerzegovina he was ready to order the Croatian army to cut off the corridor inthe northern Bosanska Posavina.
The media in Belgrade cited Tadic as saying that Mesic's statement was warmongering and that it represented a threat to the security in the region.
Tadic said Mesic's statement represented a threat to all peoples in theregion, stressing he would address their issue in the U.N. Security Council, the highest U.N. body dealing with global security.
Tadic is scheduled to attend the Security Council Session on 22 January. Thelatest report on the work of the UN mission in Kosovo will be discussed at thesession.
Earlier today, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic described Mesic'sstatement as yet another obvious attempt at provocation.
