There are international airports in Zagreb, Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka (on the island of Krk). Flights connect Zagreb to a number of European cities. Zagreb international airport is 17km (11mi) southeast of the city. Recently, Osijek airport in Slavonia has been renovated for regional traffic. It is also being considered to revitalize Pula airport (Istria) as a destination for low cost airlines. Airports also on the islands of Lošinj and Brač.
A very comprehensive coach network connects all parts of the country. There are regular international coach services connecting Croatia with all neighboring countries, as well as Switzerland, France, Germany and Slovakia. Bus service between major cities is quite frequent, as well as regional services. The most frequent bus terminal in Croatia is Bus Terminal Zagreb.

Train
There are good connections between Zagreb and many central European destinations such as Ljubljana, Munich, Vienna and Budapest. The most useful routes in domestic services include the services from Zagreb to Rijeka and Pula, Sibenik and Split and Zadar. Dubrovnik is not connected to the rail network, your best bet is to take the train to Split and the bus or ferry from Split to Dubrovnik. Details on: www.hznet.hr
InterRail passes are valid in Croatia, although it is unlikely that you'll get much value from your pass since train travel in Croatia is much cheaper than other parts of Europe.
There are several major railway routes in the country:
from Zagreb to Vinkovci (and on to Belgrade, Serbia)
from Zagreb to Osijek via Koprivnica
from Zagreb to Rijeka
from Zagreb to Split

Buses
All buses operate from a central bus station (autobusni kolodvor) which is usually located within walking distance of the train station. The ticket counter usually sells tickets for all buses regardless of the route or company which offers the service. You normally get a ticket for the next available service unless you ask for a specific departure. In the bigger bus stations such as the Zagreb bus station ( www.akz.hr ), there may be separate ticket windows for international departures.
Generally bus travel is a faster and more comfortable way to travel than the train, although fares are around 20% more expensive than rail travel.
Eurolines operate international services to Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and Zadar with the majority of international Eurolines services operating out of Zagreb. International cities served include Berlin, Budapest, Cologne, Frankfurt, Ljubljana, Munich, Nuremberg, Sarajevo, Stuttgart and Vienna.
Apart from the ferry, buses are the only way for independent travellers to get around southern Dalmatia as there is no train service south of Split.
