Some 20 members of the movement "Stop the Prosecution of Croatian War Veterans" rallied in downtown Zagreb on Wednesday morning to protest against a visit by the chief prosecutor of the Hague war crimes tribunal, Serge Brammertz, who is expected to meet Croatian officials in Zagreb during the day to discuss Croatia's cooperation with the UN war crimes court.
The movement's leader, Zvonimir Trusic, said the protesters would try to block streets leading to St. Mark's Square where the government and parliament headquarters are located.
The protesting war veterans, who rallied in the Cvjetni Trg Square, were carrying Croatian flags and banners with messages against the Hague tribunal and some Croatian officials.
