Croatian high jumper Blanka Vlasic made a triumphant return to sports after 21 months of absence due to injury by jumping 1.94 m at a Diamond League meeting in New York on Saturday, tying the meeting record.
Vlasic jumped 1.94 m in the first attempt but failed to jump 1.97 m in three attempts.
This was her first competition since 16 September 2011 in Brussels.
Another Croat celebrated at the meeting. Discus thrower Sandra Perkovic scored 68.48 m, the best throw in the world this season and the meeting's record.
