The third Terraneo music festival was held in the coastal town of Sibenik from Wednesday to Friday, with about a 100 foreign and Croatian performers, from electronic through hip hop to rock, playing on nine stages, a news conference heard on Monday.
Festival spokesman Luka Pavic said approximately 40,000 people visited the festival.
More than 15,000 people attended the first day of the festival, when the biggest attraction was Great Britain's The Prodigy.
The other performers on the first day included Fun-Da-Mental, Eyesburn, Emiliana Torrini, Koan Sound, Mayales, Woods, Kranksvester, and Kawasaki 3p as well as several DJs.
On Thursday, some 10,000 people attended the festival, when the musicians included My Bloody Valentine, Calexico, Gang Of Four as well as a number of DJs.
Wu Tang Clan, Aloe Blacc, The Cribbs, Dubfire, The Bots and others played on Friday.
The festival is a perfect addition to the tourism offer of the Dalmatia coastal region, making it a popular destination for thousands of young people from Croatia and Europe looking for fun, the organisers said.
Their aim is to make the festival the leading music event in the region which develops and nurtures the concept of socially responsible and eco-friendly entertainment. Their task is to promote the natural beauty of the Sibenik region and promote this town and Croatia as hip and attractive destinations.
The organisers of the festival said they were satisfied with the growing number of foreigners visiting the festival and this year they accounted for 25% of all the visitors.
The organisers also refuted speculations that the festival would be moved to another location.
