The supervisory board of the Croatian Osiguranje insurance company on Monday dismissed the chairman of the company's management board, Hrvoje Vojkovic, and management board member, Damir Mihanovic, and decided to request the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency to approve the appointment of Zdravko Zrinusic as the company's new CEO.
The supervisory board also took note of a report on the company's business performance in 2009, the board said in a statement.
The dismissal of the company's CEO Vojkovic and management board member Mihanovic was moved on 19 February by the Croatian government which also proposed that Vojkovic be replaced by Zrinusic, who now serves as deputy chairman of the Stedbanka management.
The statement quoted Vojkovic as thanking the supervisory board for their cooperation during the six years of his term in office.
He said that all that time Croatia Osiguranje had been successful.
In 2009, which Vojkovic described as a crisis year, the company posted "a profit of HRK 97 million, an increase of 41.7 per cent from 2008".
The supervisory board's session was chaired by the board chairman, Finance Minister Ivan Suker. In attendance were Andrije Hebrang, Gzim Redzepi, Stjepan Kozic, Miljenko Boban and Miroslav Hrascanec as well as Hrvoje Vojkovic, Damir Mihanovic and another management board member, Silvana Ivancic.
