Croatian Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovic and the director of the Ukrainian state company Ukrspecexport, which exports and imports military goods and services, on Monday signed a contract on the overhaul and purchase of twelve MiG-21 aircraft, the ministry said in a statement.
The contract is insured with guarantees and clearly defines deadlines, bearing in mind the functioning of the Croatian military, the statement added.
The Defence Ministry recalled that on June 10 a decision was made to choose a contractor for the overhaul of MiG-21 aircraft for the Croatian Air Force and that Ukrspecexport was chosen for the job.
An authorised ministry commission assessed the Ukrainian offer as the most favourable.
The contract was signed by Kotromanovic and Dmitry Aleksandrovich Peregudov.
