In the next two years Croatia will send to Afghanistan up to 350 members of its armed forces, which is 30 soldiers more than now, the parliament decided on Friday, thus confirming a decision on the participation of Croatian army members in the peace mission in Afghanistan (ISAF).
Croatian soldiers will be deployed in Afghanistan as mentors and instructors of the local security and military forces, and they will take the leading role in the military police school in Kabul.
MPs also adopted a decision on the participation of Croatian soldiers in the EU NAVFOR Somalia - ATALANTA peace operation, where up to five naval officers will be sent in the next two years.
