Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister, Gordan Jandrokovic, met with Serge Brammertz, the chief prosecutor of the Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), while on an official visit to the Netherlands on Tuesday, the Croatian foreign ministry stated in a press release.
Jandrokovic reaffirmed Croatia's commitment to full cooperation with the ICTY and its Office of the Chief Prosecutor.
Jandrokovic said he hoped that the efforts being made by the Croatian government to enhance cooperation with the Hague tribunal would also be recognised by Prosecutor Brammertz.
This will also have an impact on the European Commission's adoption of positive assessment of Croatia's successful fulfilment of benchmarks for closing Chapter 23 (Judiciary and Fundamental Rights) within Croatia's EU accession negotiations, according to the press release.
Jandrokovic briefed Brammertz about other topics from Croatia's accession process and presented a time frame for the completion of the accession negotiations.
